November 20192019, A Very Busy Year!
2019 has been a very busy year for all at Granity Kura. We are excited about the changes taking place at our school and keen to share the positive feeling that will and is resulting in great outcomes for our school whanau.
The board of trustees has completed a full review of the strategic direction and core focus of the school resulting in a new vision, mission statement and new core values. These reflect the unique community that the school serves while ensuring a strong link to the Kahui Ako, community of schools, in the Buller region. This body of work is being finalised and we look forward to sharing this very soon.
The board have also completed a thorough overhaul of the policies that ensure the school is a safe, happy well resourced place of learning. The school is about to launch a new website and our policies will be available for all to see.
The opportunities for our Tamariki at Granity are endless and so much of what we do is linked to the stunning environment that surrounds our school.
Our new school logo was chosen by staff, students and community and has underlying meaning also linked to the region and the uniqueness of the Buller region.
We are celebrating the success of our senior students who are soon to move on in their learning journey to Buller High School. We wish Thomas, Amy and Khan all the very best for the future. We will be celebrating their graduation from Granity near the end of the year.
We would like to thank the families of all our students and those in the wider community who have supported the school throughout the year.
2020 is set to be a big year for the school and we are excited to welcome our new entrants and get the new year off to a flying start!
We hope you enjoy the images of our Tamariki who are at the heart of everything we do.
